ACI’s Management Team has an average of at least 18 years of industry experience, with M.D.s, Ph.D.s and Masters-level staff in a variety of disciplines. Leading a team with one of the lowest turnover rates in the industry, ACI’s unique senior management understands what it takes to deliver the trusted information our clients need to clearly communicate the value and safety of medical treatments, drugs and devices. Furthermore, most of ACI’s senior staff have more than 10 years of industry experience and many of them have worked together for over ten years.
Jonathan Seltzer, MD, MBA, MA, FACC
President and CEO
Dr. Seltzer has over 15 years of industry experience and is a co-founder of Applied Clinical Intelligence LLC. He has expertise in drug safety, having chaired many Data Monitoring Committees in multiple therapeutic areas, and provided medical representation at the FDA. He has special expertise in the area of cardiac safety. Dr. Seltzer is a trustee of the Academy of Pharmaceutical Physicians and an Investigator for the Main Line Health Heart Center. Dr. Seltzer received his undergraduate degree from Haverford College and graduate degrees in Business and Applied Economics from University of Michigan. He was board certified in cardiology following medical training from the Universities of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland and Chicago.
Liza Seltzer, MA
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Liza Nickerson Seltzer has over 15 years of experience in executive management positions in the health and pharmaceutical space. Prior to joining ACI, she managed international programs in women’s health, was the Director of Health Education for the Chicago Department of Health and built a consulting practice focused on health behavior change interventions. In addition to her management skills, Ms. Seltzer has technical expertise in developing and implementing quality performance standards as well as in Health Communications and Training. Her undergraduate degree in English is from Georgetown University and her graduate degree in International Relations/Economics is from a joint program of Tufts and Harvard Universities.
Jeff Davidson, PhD
Senior Vice President; Biometrics and Scientific Communications
Dr. Davidson has 20 years of experience in the industry at pharmaceutical companies both small and large. Before joining ACI, he was the VP of Global Biometrics at Shire Development, Inc where he represented Shire at both FDA Advisory Committee and reviewer meetings, built a strong organization of biometrics professionals and mobilized the team to gain regulatory approval for five new therapeutic agents. His expertise in best practices also helped to lead the department to process improvements that have resulted in efficiencies that will positively impact the ability to get drugs approved on time and with quality for many years to come. Dr. Davidson received his undergraduate degrees in Psychology (B.A) and Rehabilitation Education (B.S.) from Penn State. His post-graduate degrees include Special Education (M.Ed.) from the College of New Jersey and METER (Measurements, Evaluations, and Techniques of Experimental Research) (Ph.D.) from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mark Williams, BS
Vice President and Chief Information Officer
Mark Williams has 20 years of experience in information technology applications and clinical data analysis; he is a co-founder of Applied Clinical Intelligence LLC. Mr. Williams has served as Senior Director of Integrated Business Systems at eResearchTechnologies (eRT), where he was responsible for development of technologies and processes for data collection, data warehousing, data mining, clinical trial metrics, and OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) for clinical information applications. He has expertise in complex data analyses and has worked with clients and FDA medical officers on over 50 New Drug Application submissions. Mr. Williams received his BS in Engineering from Penn State University.
Alan Smith, MS
Chief, Clinical Applications and Statistics
Alan Smith brings over 25 years of experience taking programs and studies from initial inception, through protocol and SAP development, meetings with FDA, randomization, DMC review, to interim and full analysis, reporting and submission. He has had deep involvement in the full range of therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, oncology, CNS, urology and anti-infectives. Mr. Smith has held other executive industry positions including Vice President of Development for eResearch Technology and Head of Statistics at Beecham Pharmaceuticals (now GlaxoSmithKline). Mr. Smith began his career as a professor of statistics at the Institute of Psychiatry in London. He has a B.SC. in Mathematics and Management Science and a M.S. in Statistics from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
Kimberly Warner, MS
Senior Director, Client Services and Regulatory Affairs
Kimberly Warner has over 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to joining ACI, Ms. Warner was a statistician at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, Premier Research, and Zeneca Pharmaceuticals. She has been the project statistician on numerous clinical trials (including Pediatric Exclusivity studies) and a statistical contributor to several NDA submissions and two Advisory Committee Meetings. She has clinical trial experience in the cardiovascular, CNS, gastro-intestinal, oncology, pain, respiratory, and urology therapeutic areas. Ms. Warner has a BA in Economics and Statistics from Douglass College, Rutgers University and a MS in Statistics from Rutgers University.
